Polar Bear Plunge & New Year’s Day Levee 
January 1, 2012

Start the New Year as a spectator or a participant at the main beach at 1 pm then head to the Port Dover Harbour Museum for the Captain’s New Year’s Day Levee & Old-Time Fiddle Party!

Friday January 13th, 2012

Bike enthusiasts visit Port over for one of three Friday 13th events in 2012. 
Enjoy entertainment at the Norfolk Tavern, Angelos and Captain Billy's. 
Vendors will be set up in the downtown area.

 

12th Annual Mellow Yellow Day 
April 2012 
sponsored by the Port Dover Lioness Club

 The day begins with buses touring our historic port town where they are greeted by bright yellow King Alfred Daffodils planted throughout the town. After a delicious lunch try our trademark “Mellow Yellow Desserts”. Our motto is “try one or try many”. Entertainment completes the day with lots of laughter and prizes. 15th Annual Port Dover Perch Derby
April 21 - May 5, 2012





Thousands of dollars worth of tagged fish to be caught over two weeks of fishing.

Then arrive early for a good spot at the pier for the boat parade at 11:00 am and then on to Main Street at 2:00 pm to see the hour long Calithumpian Parade at 2:00pm. It's Canada's biggest! Enjoy food, fun, friends and finally fireworks and bands in the evening at Silver Lake Park.  Welcome everyone to our day long celebration!

The Christmas Parade, a visit with Santa, the music, Moonlight Madness Sales, a Christmas Craft show at the Community Centre, caroling around the bonfire on the beach and fireworks over the lake "kick-off" the Christmas season in Port Dover!      
   Join the celebration!

Saturday Schedule of Events

10:00-5:00 pm  Christmas Craft Show at the
Community Centre.  Sunday 10:00-4:00 pm.
9:00am - noon Christmas Bazaar at Knox Presbyterian Church
1:00 pm   Santa arrives by fish tug escorted by the Canadian Coast Guard.
1:15 pm  The Christmas Parade with Santa and Mrs. Claus, the Prince & Princess, the bands, the clowns, the horse & trolley and all the floats  head up Main Street through downtown Port Dover to Nelson Street then back down St. George Street. Santa then arrives at Lighthouse Festival Theatre to greet the children. 
2:00-4:00 pm  Pictures with Santa at Lighthouse Festival Theatre so have your lists ready! 
12:00-3:00 pm Christmas Bazaar at St. Paul's Anglican Church
6:00-7:00 pm Warm up with hot chocolate at the community bonfire on the beach, join the caroling & watch the wonderful fireworks display over the lake.
7:00pm - ?  The real bargins begin so shop 'til you flop!  The stores in town are offering great bargains all weekend in their annual Moonlight Madness Sale.

 Port Dover ChristmasFest Parade
Saturday November 18, 2012

Welcome to the Port Dover Board of Trade Christmas Parade.
The following are guidelines to help make your participation a
 fun and safe experience.

•The number one item is to remember to have fun, smiles and laughter rule the day!
• The parade will form up starting at 12:00 noon at Knechtel’s parking lots across
   from Willies. Volunteers will be available to provide information
•Parade starts at 1:00 (or when Santa gets his land legs!) Snow or Shine
•Prizes will be presented for:

Public Washrooms by the parking lot will be available for the weekend.
•The Port Dover Board of Trade cannot be held responsible for property left at the
   parking lot.
•In the interest of safety there will be NO throwing or handing of items to the
 spectators from the parade float or any moving vehicle. If you have candy or items
 to give away use walkers at the side of the moving vehicles. This is an important
 safety issue. Refusal will result in immediate withdrawal from the Parade.
•Any entry involving animals MUST supply proper cleanup.

The Port Dover Board of Trade offers Commercial Exhibitors an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of their business to the community. You will not only be helping yourself and the Christmas Parade but also the many charitable efforts supported by the Port Dover Board of Trade.

Band Guidelines:
•Parade starts at 1:00 pm ish
•Bands are to assemble starting at 12:00 noon at parking
   lot across from Willies.
•See Parade Marshals for parking/start up directions
•Public Washroom will be available
•All Bands are expected to play as much as possible during the Parade.
             The parade ends back at the pier.
